How CharityStack stays free for nonprofits, and what that means for your donors.
Yes — Starter is free forever, no card required. You only ever encounter a platform fee when a donor voluntarily chooses to cover it.
No catch. Donors can choose to cover the fee at checkout (the slider is a separate thing, and 100% of it goes to you). Opt out for a lower fee, and the gifts a donor does not cover come out of the donation instead. By default, though, you are fully covered — that’s the Covered Commitment.
We don’t use pressure tactics — no pre-checked tips, and no guilt-framed screens. Donors simply choose whether to cover fees at checkout. Our only slider is the optional add-extra one (100% of which goes to you), and it’s easy to skip. And donations, donor data, and marketing live in one platform instead of three.
You’re covered. Under the Covered Commitment, which is on by default, CharityStack covers the fee so you keep the full donation. If you opted out for the lower fee, the fee comes out of that donation instead.
