Nonprofits shouldn't be prevented from changing the world
And they're prevented today from the burden of shrinking overhead. Donors prefer to have their money restricted to specific programs and it's becoming tougher to find talent that's willing to move the organization forward.
There needs to be a fundamental shift in how nonprofits continue to operate.
We're building the future of nonprofit operations by building technology + services that will radically change how the industry functions today—and we've internalized the following ideas to help us lead the way:
Limited overhead is an opportunity, not a burden. We see the value in prioritizing efficiency. We do not think that the industry's desire to allocate most of the money that is donated towards a nonprofit's program will ever change.
Artificial Intelligence will bring previously unimaginable efficiency gains. We are at an inflection point of what any single human is able to do with technology. No other industry needs AI more than nonprofits.
The future of work is fractional. Nonprofits are typically not experts in accounting, compliance, or payroll management, and therefore they should not be expected to hire for or handle their own back-office operations. The best nonprofits have already realized this and work with partners to handle everything they can't.
Software is becoming a commodity. We believe that software will become cheaper over time and therefore no longer worth the $10,000 annual contracts and the 2% platform fees they've been charged in the past.
With AI, all of the solutions created in the last 20 years won't stand a chance. We know that the technology companies that build in this space are decades behind the average software company. We refuse to make this mistake.
Our commitment at CharityStack is to build technology + services to transform the nonprofit industry from the most resource constrained to one that is the most efficient.
